Similar to Facebook Live, Twitter’s Periscope and Youtube Live, Instagram now one-step closer on creating its own live recording feature, Live Stories.
Kevin Systrom, CEO of Instagram mentioned on his recent interview with Financial Times that its Live Stories will be part of its next big features update.
“Live is really exciting for us. I think it can enhance what we are doing, if I’m trying to strengthen relationships with someone I love, them streaming video to me live would be an amazing way to be closer to them.”
Instagram can be considered as one of the top social networking these day with an estimation of 500 million plus active users monthly worldwide. At the same time, the previous feature, Instagram Stories which is similar to Snapchat Stories also reported to have over 100 million active users viewing it daily since the feature launched.
“If you are the CEO of a company and all of a sudden 100 million people are using a new format every single day, it’s not something you can ignore. You push investment into it,” says Systrom to Financial Times.
Live is a trend nowadays on social media platforms. More and more users are now love to update their life routine live on their social media to connect, build fans and many other purposes. However, there is still no further confirmation on when will the feature will become official but live videos are definitely coming soon or later in Instagram.
